Why did you choose San Juan College?

"I originally chose to go to San Juan College to pursue my Business Administration degree. I completed that in 2 years. I went back again in the fall of 2022 for my Marketing degree. I graduated with my Marketing degree in less than a year. Ultimately, I just wanted to better my life by growing my knowledge in 2 fields that interest me the most. I now have financial security and a better understanding on how to run my own business when I get to that point."

What did you do to prepare for your career?

"I applied with my resume and cover letter and got an interview. I also included my eportfolio on my resume. I didn't hear anything back, so I sent the store manager a 20 page slideshow of my style & fashion choices. I got a call shortly after for a 2nd interview. Immediately after, I met with the district manager and was hired on the spot."

What advice would you give to future graduates?

"My advice to future graduates is to stay as focused as you can. You have to be self disciplined and really apply yourself. Sometimes other sacrifices are made, but in the end it's all worth it. The short term discomfort has long term benefits. My other word of advice would be to do your best & know that if you don't pass with all A's, that's perfectly okay!"

What was your fondest memory at San Juan College?

"The teacher that stood out to me the most was Annette Abend. She was very understanding and kind. She was also very professional and knows her field very well. I'm pretty sure she was also the one that nominated me for the National Society of Leadership & Success. I passed her classes with flying colors because of the resources and help that she provided."
